Van-Far Schools will be in session on Monday, December 21 and Tuesday, December 22, 2020. Tuesday is a full day with normal dismissal time. Christmas break will be December 23-January 4, 2021. School will resume on January 5, 2021.
JH/HS Band/Choir Concert is tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. We ask for immediate family members only to attend and those in attendance to follow our mask mandate. Please sit with your family members and socially distance from other households. Once the concert has ended, please avoid congregating in the gym and exit the building. Christmas From a Small Town Heart is this Sunday, December 13, from 1:30-4:00. The event will take place in the VF Elementary gym. This is an opportunity for our students to shop for family members, free of charge. Wrap the presents, visit with Santa, enjoy a cookie and sip on some hot chocolate. We hope to see you Sunday! Thank you Eva Erby and the Ralls County Health Department for sponsoring our flu shot clinic! Thank you Nurse Allen for arranging and organizing the clinic! We had 73 elementary students and 29 junior/senior high students participate today. The staff clinic was held in October. Thank you for offering this service to our students and staff!!
For tonight's Jr High game vs. Montgomery, the boys will play first at 5:30, followed by the girls.
Our Veterans Day program has been rescheduled for tomorrow. Students are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue. We will be selling yellow ribbons for $1 to wear on shirts and backpacks. The money raised from the ribbon sales will be donated to the honor flight. At 11:45, our program will be live on Facebook for our community to enjoy. #thankaveteran #onetribe
Our kindergarten and first grade students made some decorations in art class to send to Tri-County Nursing Home. The decorations will be used to decorate the residents doors. Spreading Christmas cheer! #onetribe #kindness #vanfar
The JH Girls Basketball game that was scheduled at Louisiana for 12/21 is cancelled. The JH Boys will stay play at home against Louisiana on 12/21.
For tonight's JH Basketball game at Mark Twain, tickets for entry will be at the gate. You will need to let them know which player you are with, and only 2 tickets/entries will be provided per participant.
For tonight's ballgames at Silex, masks are required for all visitors at all times while you are in their building. They will be clearing the gym after two girls games prior to the boys games beginning. They ask for only the fans wishing to view the girls games to enter during their play, and for the fans wishing to watch the boys games to enter 10 minutes before game time. They are estimating the boys game to start at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets #1 and #2 will be the only ones accepted at the door to enter the gym. Please pass the word to your community members.
Each Ticket was labeled Girls or Boys - If you are playing on separate nights - the ticket they have will only get them in to the designated gym/night the labeled team is playing.
We have just installed our NFHS Camera in the HS Gym. Once those links are available to me I will send those out to you as well for every game in the High School Gym. (NFHS Paywall)
Games in the MS will not be streamed at this point. If your school plays over there and want to YouTube it or Facebook Live it….that is fine and welcomed. Just let us know the day you will play so that we can make sure you have all the wifi/firewall information that you need.

Reminder that anyone wanting to do virtual learning for 2nd semester through the Launch program needs to notify Mrs. Pafford or Mrs. Utterback by December 8th and meet with Mrs. Utterback by December 11th to set up a schedule. No late requests will be taken after December 8th as virtual courses will be no longer taught by our teachers on campus and we have to register each student through the Launch program.
