
Field Day T-shirt information was sent home on Friday. If you want to purchase a shirt for park/field day which is held in May, orders are due this Friday, March 19. The cost is $8 each.


Friday was our last day celebrating #NSBW21! Throughout the week we served 519 breakfast meals to students. Breakfast is an important part of any morning routine. We hope your child continues to join us!

Our theme for Read-In Day was Taco About Books. One of our favorite books is Dragons Love Tacos. During the day we had a drawing for books for classroom libraries. At the end of the day we had a school wide DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) time. Thank you Mrs. Johnson for organizing this day!

This Friday is MO Read-In Day (House Bill 795). This day is set aside to observe activities that promote an increased awareness of the importance of reading and encourage reading at school and home. Students can wear fiesta or bright colored clothing.

VFE Reminder: Student-Led Conferences will be held tomorrow, March 1, from 11:00-6:00. Your child will be sharing with you their progress this school year. We are looking forward to seeing you! Masks will be required.


Is your child interested in playing coach pitch, softball, or baseball? Vandalia Little League registration forms were sent home Friday. They can be returned to the school. The deadline to sign up is March 17. Forms and fees are due at the time of registration. Sign up today!


Reminder that Bus 6 is running about 10 minutes early in the morning and Bus 9 will be a second route in the evening and arriving home later than usual until further notice.

Student-led Conferences will be held on March 1, from 11:00-6:00. Your elementary student is bringing home an informational letter and sign up sheet for parents to complete. Please return these on Tuesday, so that classroom teachers can finalize appointment times.


We are taking appointments for preschool and kindergarten screenings. Call the school to reserve your spot!


Van-Far will be hosting District Basketball. Girls will play Saturday, February 20th at 2:00 p.m., Boys will play Monday, February 22nd at 6:30 p.m. You must have a ticket to enter. All passes are invalid and all will have to pay the $5 admission. JH/HS student tickets are available to sign up for at the high school office. Concessions may not be available Saturday so plan accordingly. Athletes will receive their tickets for family/friends today. Any questions, please contact the high school office.

Mexico schools are out again tomorrow so there are no classes at Hart Career Center. As of now, Van-Far is in session tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
